Matil is getting SO big! She's not the tiny ball of fur we brought home. She is becoming the dog she will be. You can see her peak through when you're not looking. I miss puppy breath and I'm sure I will soon miss the days when she was afraid to go down the stairs. But someday soon she'll be her own being. That's when we can walk without running back to the safety of the front porch whenever the traffic scares her. We'll explore all the places Mrs. and I used to visit. All my Little Dog's favorites. The cemetery, the bike trails, the city streets where we can watch life. People never notice you when you have a dog at the end of a leash. You fade into the background. It's a fine way to observe. This will be Matilda's world.
A city girl, walking the pavement. Chasing the squirrels. Walks in the woods when the weather is nice. Maybe spooking a gay couple having a tryst on the trail.. :) Matilda will know hot pavement in the summer and popsicles in the shade. Snow drifts, where she'll hafta be carried and warm naps in front of the heating vents.
